Clips for India
Join us, as we support the work of the Institute of Applied Dermatology in India.
Do you discard metal bandage clips like this?
Now we can put them to good use, helping people who really need them.
In Australia, many clinicians who work with wounds, oedema or in general practice, use crepe or compression bandages.
Most wouldn’t think twice about discarding those little metal clips into the sharps bin when they open a new bandage.
Did you know we can use these to help Lymphatic Filariasis patients in India who cannot afford any tape or clips to secure compression bandages which are essential to their care.
Lymphatic Filariasis is a neglected tropical disease that affects poor populations in developing countries. In India, an estimated 25 million people are affected by this debilitating disease, causing lifelong distress and often prevents them from working. This leads to additional burden on their families and community.
Through an established connection with the Institute of Applied Dermatology in India, Good Wound Care can hand deliver these clips to help continue the free Lymphatic Filariasis and Lymphedema treatments for these underprivileged patients.
It’s easy to help:
- All you need to do instead of disposing them into waste, is pop them into a little specimen-jar or rigid envelope. They are super light and don’t take up much space. Please note: all clips must be new, no used or second-hand clips accepted
- When you have saved enough clips, pass them onto us and keep collecting more
- A large envelope is a good size for sending via Australia Post to Good Wound Care PO Box 68 Teesdale Victoria 3328 Australia
- Alternatively, you may know a Wound Clinician or Lymphoedema Therapist in Australia who can easily pass them to us at our national conference events held every year. There are plenty of opportunities and this is along term project so you can keep collecting clips all year long
- Lastly, share this project with your colleagues. You’re saving waste and helping needy people fight Lymphoedema in desperate conditions
What else can I do?

Kindly do not send clips directly to the IAD as they will be subject to domestic fees
